is a Portland-born 20-year-old, Macalester College student-athlete, and painter! Her predominantly acrylic paintings are often colorful, humorous, confusing, whimsical, and dreamlike. Carmen is drawn to wild patterns, creatures of all kinds (except for slugs), bizarre landscapes, and large feasts. She tends to explore realism, surrealism, and abstractionism in order to satisfy all of these components. She strives for peculiarity!

Aside from painting for pleasure, she does a lot of unofficial freelance work, including designing logos, invitations, apparel, promotional flyers, and more for numerous companies, individuals, and schools. One of her most notable designs is the 2020 Corgi Beach Day at Cannon Beach logo! You can also find her painting in the virtual "Foot in the Door" exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Art here.
